We are now Open for Sweaters!
Woollybottoms has decided to make some very important changes to the sweater purchase program. We will now be working one on one with a handful of moms (and dads) with sweater shipments. With rising shipping costs, and the need to control our inventory more efficiently, we will only be accepting sweaters from pre-approved sweater collectors. We will work out a schedule with our collectors to send sweaters. We would prefer shipments have a minimum of 20 sweaters with the rising cost of shipping. Fed-Ex and UPS seem to be cost effective especially with very large boxes. If you are on the west coast, Parcel Post seems to be the cheapest right now. If you are interested in being a sweater collector for us, please contact us.
We have VERY specific requirements for the type of fabric we use as these items must meet the approval of babies. Please study the acceptable list of wools very carefully. This program is currently for US residents only.
Payment Information: The current rate will be $4.00 per sweater payable by paypal or check, or $5.00 per sweater of in-store credit. Shipping charges are fully reimbursed as well. I can always reimburse your shipping charges through paypal and use the sweaters as in store credit. In-Store credit cannot be transferred or cashed in for payment. Payment/In-Store credit will be issued within 24 hours of package arrival (unless your package arrives on Saturday, payment will be issued Monday).
*PLEASE include a note in your shipment which includes your email address and note if you prefer store credit or paypal. Sometimes email addresses do not match up with your name and it is hard for me to match records. Please let me know if your paypal account is different from your email address. This speeds up the process in getting everything processed.

Common Questions
* Do you accept vests or short sleeved sweaters? Yes
*Do you accept sweaters that button or zip? Yes
*Do you accept child sized sweaters? Yes as long as they are not fully felted as we often times pair them with matching bottoms and do not cut them up.
*Do you accept shrunken sweaters? These are sometimes the best ones and a great way to recycle. As long as they are not felted hard and stiff or have zero stretch we accept them.
* I have a sweater that has a hole in it, do you accept those? Yes. We are most of the time able to work around flaws and this is a great part of recycling. We can not accept sweaters though that have been attacked by moths and are riddled with small holes.
*Do you require photos before I send the sweaters? No, as long as everything meets the criteria just send them over :)
*How much wool needs to be in the sweater? We prefer the sweater is at least 70% natural fibers to work as a wool cover needs to work. (for example 50% lambswool and 50% acrylic will not work). A higher percentage of man-made materials means the cover does not have the amount of anti-bacterial qualities that wool contains naturally.
*If you have something you are not sure about, just ask :) Not every kind of wool and possible blend is listed below. If you have a mix of merino & cashmere, of course that is OK. You may come across some that are listed 40% Merino, 10% Cashmere, 20% Angora, 20% Viscose, and 10% Nylon. Just add up the natural fibers of merino, angora, and cashmere and you see you are at 70% natural fibers and are good to go. I have also seen a few sweaters that are 69% lambswool (strange but it happens and I am not going to come unglued over 1% :) ) Mainly, just use your judgment and ask yourself if you would want this fabric against your baby's delicate skin.
